Since the co-founder of Papa Johns, John Schnatter, was caught using a racial slur during a conference call, the company has yet suffered some downswings and setbacks. The company has since removed John’s face from the pizza boxes and marketing materials.

The CEO of Papa John’s, Steve Ritchie has since released an apology for John Schnatter’s behavior. In this apology release he is apologetic for the slur and states “those words in no way represent my views or the values of our company”. He also says the racism will not be tolerated in any degree. He also explains that Papa John’s is more than John Schnatter, and that is contains 120,000 other employees from all different backgrounds. Furthermore, Steve Ritchie Papa John’s goes on to explain three ways about how he will go about fixing the companies intolerance for discrimination. The first action he will execute is sending out auditors to monitor the diversity of the company. The second action is he will send a senior manager on the road to find out more from employees about their ideas for moving froward. And, thirdly, Steve states he will be “transparent” with everyone along the way. He shows later in the apology letter how much he wants to fix the problems and gain customer’s trust in the company again.

This apology come after Ritchie’s first open apology on the Papa’s John site. The first letter seemed to have not held out as well, as it lacked an apology and overall compassion. In hopes to redeem the company the second apology has hopes of succeeding as a true apology as it declares accountability, and direct ways of improving the company. Luiz Carlos Trabuco is the current Chief Executive Officer of Bradesco, one of the largest banks in Brazil.
