Georgia native, Ryan Seacrest, has been a household name since 2002 when he began his appearances on American Idol. This was not the first media job for the ambitious performer. In fact, his career began as an on-air personality at WTSR when only 16 years old. Seacrest appeared in several roles prior to his break on American Idol. Some of the programs included Beverly Hills 90210, as host of ESPN’s Radical Outdoor Challenge and hosting a reality show on TNN called Ultimate Revenge.
American Idol was the break that launched Seacrest to the level of fame he now enjoys. His presence on the show was deemed so important, that in 2009 he became the highest paid reality television performer at the time after signing a deal worth $45 million to continue as the host. Seacrest also returned for the reboot of American Idol in early 2018.
Despite a busy career on American Idol, Seacrest has consistently sought out other opportunities. According to GQ.com, On Air with Ryan Seacrest was both a daily radio show and a TV show, hosted by Seacrest that began in 2017. It now plays in syndication around the world. The show was originally recorded in California but was relocated to Manhattan to enable another venture, his stint as the co-host of the popular morning talk show, Live with Kelly and Ryan.
If all this were not enough, the entrepreneurial individual shows his diverse skills through Ryan Seacrest Distinction. The menswear lifestyle brand began in 2014 and offers modern, but timeless fashion. He also is co-owners in Polished, a men’s skincare line. He also started Ryan Seacrest Productions, a production company that produces multiple Emmy award-winning hits.
A much more important achievement to the star is the Ryan Seacrest Foundation. The non-profit helps to inspire children. The group plans to build media centers in a variety of pediatric hospitals to enable the patients to get in touch with their creativity and to have something uplifting to aid them as they heal.
Seacrest, despite his busy schedule, has shown no interest in giving up any of his endeavors. Fans can still expect to find him hosting all his current shows as well as continuing his job as host of Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve with Ryan Seacrest (@RyanSeacrest) and on E! Live from the Red Carpet.
